CEO DATELINE - This week's fly-ins include community bankers, outdoor equipment makers

One thousand or more community bankers are taking their turn on Capitol Hill this week, talking up a "Plan for Prosperity" with lawmakers and staff. Also holding fly-ins this week: associations representing outdoor recreation equipment makers, funeral directors, limousine businesses, property casualty insurers and more.
The Independent Community Bankers of America is asking Congress to ensure that regulations are "tiered and proportionate" to community banks. Other issues include data security, crop insurance and the perennial ask to repeal tax exemptions for credit unions.
The Outdoor Industry Association, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the National Park System this year, holds its Capitol Summit. Outdoor gear maker REI is once again the "title sponsor" of the event. Former REI CEO Sally Jewel is now secretary of the U.S. Interior Department. OIA is asking policymakers to support legislation that would measure the contribution of the outdoor economy to the nation's gross domestic product.
As part of "Waterpower Week in Washington," the National Hydropower Association is holding its annual conference. Hill visits for attendees are being arranged on an individual basis.
